Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. a Joint Venture of Government of Odisha and AES Corporation, USA is thermal power generating company with state-of-art technology with a generation capacity of 2 X 210 MW having its plant site at Ib Thermal Power Station, Banharpali, Jharsuguda with an annual turnover of about 500 crores. The Company is currently in the process of setting up 2 X 660 MW units & developing its captive coal mine in the 1st Phase. We are looking for bright, young, energetic and committed Engineers with brilliant academic record to join OPGC as Engineering Executive Trainees. The breakup of the disciplines is indicated below:

    AGE LIMIT: AS ON 01.12.2012

    The maximum age limit for General candidates is 25 years as on 01.12.2012.

    Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST Candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. In case of PWD candidates upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years. In respect of the PWD candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category, the age relaxation admissible will be in addition to the relaxation admissible for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC.

    PAY & PERKS:

    Candidates selected for the above position(s), will be placed in ET grade during the Training Period for one year and on successful completion of Training will be placed in the E1 grade of MBS (Market Based Salary) as Assistant Managers.

    During the training period they will receive a CTC of 4.00 Lakhs per annum. The selected candidates posted at Plant Site will also be provided with Bachelor Accommodation, apart from other perks and benefits.

    During the Training period of one year the Trainee may be terminated in case his his/her Performance is not found to be satisfactory.

    SERVICE AGREEMENT BOND:

    The selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs 2,50,000/- to serve the Company for at least 3 years from the date of their regularisation in OPGC.

    RECRUITMENT & SELECTION PROCESS :

    Selection of candidates will be based upon their performance in written test and Group Discussion/Interview.

    1. Written Examination will be of 2 hours duration consisting of 120 questions (General Awareness - 24, Technical/Domain - 72, Reasoning - 24)
    2. Question paper will be in English only.
    3. The interested candidate(s) needs to apply by logging on to our website www.opgc.co.in > Career, and by filling up the online form as per the criteria mentioned for each of the positions. The candidates can apply for only one position and no other mode of receiving application will be accepted other than online application.
    4. Before applying online the candidates needs to make a non-refundable Demand Draft (DD) for 100 (not applicable for SC, ST, PWD) drawn in favour of "Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited", payable at Bhubaneswar. The details of DD such as DD number and date of DD is to be mentioned at the time of filling online application form.
    5. The Demand Draft with candidates name, contact no & position applied for should be written at the back of the DD.
    6. On successful submission of the online application an Online Application Number will be generated and the candidate needs to print the Completed Application Form after successful submission. The printed Application Form along with a photograph & signature are to be sent through only "ORDINARY POST" attached with the Demand Draft to "P.O.BOX NO. 3076, LODHI ROAD, NEW DELHI- 110 003" so as to reach by 25.01.2013 and any postal delays or loss in transit will not be considered. The envelope containing the Application form and demand draft should be clearly super scribed “Application for ET “name of the Post” (i.e. Mechanical/Electrical etc).
    7. No other documents viz. Educational Qualification, Experience etc. to be sent alongwith Online Application Form.
    8. Eligible candidates will be called for a written test comprising of multiple choice questions consisting of technical questions from their respective areas and questions on General Aptitude & test of reasoning.
    9. The admit card can be downloaded by the candidates from our website mentioned above by punching in their Online Application number. TWO Copies of Admit Card needs to be brought at the Examination center on the day of written exam with a pasted colour passport size photograph (same as the one pasted in the application form) on both the copies of admit card and also his/her Identity card issued by the College/Institution or by the Government such as Driving licence, Voter ID etc. One admit card copy is to be submitted to Invigilator at Examination center and the other copy needs to be retained by the candidate for future reference.
    10. The candidates qualifying the written test will be called for the Group Disucssion/Final Interview. At the time of Interview the candidate needs to bring the copy of Printed Application Form along with the copy of All Educational Qualification(s) Certificate(s), Caste Certificates, PWD/PH Certificate, and Experience Certificate (if applicable) duly attested by a Gazetted Officer or by the Competent Authority of the Institution and also the original certificates for verification. The candidate needs to login to www.opgc.co.in > Career, to know whether they have been shortlisted for Final Interview by punching in their Roll Number/Registration Number.

    OTHER CONDITIONS:
     
    1. Only Indian National need apply.
    2. The total number of posts in each specialisation may be increased or decreased based on actual requirement at the time of recruitment at the discretion of Management.
    3. Before applying for the post the candidate should read complete advertisement carefully and ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria and norms as specified. Candidates whose specialization mentioned in the degree Certificate does not tally with the branch mentioned in the application may not be considered for the Interview, however, Management reserves the right to decide accordingly.
    4. Mere fulfilling of the eligibility criteria does not entitle the candidates to be called for written test and/or Interview.
    5. In order to restrict the number of candidates to be called for written test and/or Interview the Management reserves the right to raise the eligibility standards.
    6. Management reserves the right not to fill some/any/all the positions so advertised without assigning any reason thereof.
    7. In case of non-availability or insufficient number of eligible/suitable women candidate(s) belonging to any particular category, the vacancies or remaining vacancies reserved for women candidates (s) of that category shall be filled up by male candidate(s) of the same category.
    8. The CGPA/GPA/OGPA or letter grade awarded may be converted into percentage of marks to be indicated in application form.
    9. Only SC/ST candidates called for written test will be reimbursed journey expenses (to and fro) by 2nd Class Railway/Bus by the shortest route on production of copy of ticket of one way.
    10. The candidate finally selected needs to be medically fit as per company’s medical standard.
    11. The queries under RTI are/will be entertained only upto 6 months from the date of publication of final results on our website.
    12. While applying online, the candidate has to exercise his/her choice of one examination centre only and no request for change of examination centre will be entertained.
    13. Furnishing of wrong/incomplete/false information in the online application will lead to disqualification of the candidate and OPGC will not be responsible for any of the consequences of furnishing such wrong/false/incomplete information. Since all applications will be screened without documentary evidence/proof, the candidate must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the position to which they are applying. If at any stage during the recruitment and selection process and thereafter, it is found that the candidate has furnished wrong/false/incomplete information, their candidature will be rejected. In case any of these shortcoming(s) is/are detected even after appointment, his/her services will be summarily terminated.
    14. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
